Mutant Lab is a music recording studio situated in the very centre of Southampton. We offer great quality professional recording services in a friendly and comfortable environment. Due to our enthusiasm and care we have developed long relationships with dedicated customers. We take pains in making sure that your visit is not only highly productive but also enjoyable.

"I started Mutant Lab Studio because I love music, I love playing music, producing and recording music and I love listening to it. I've had a lot of jobs involving music from live gig engineer to university lecturer but it has always been my dream to start a studio. When at the end of 2009 I had an opportunity to start a recording studio I grabbed it with both hands. My aim was to create a space where I could record as much and as many different types of music as I could, with natural acoustics enabling the real sound of instruments to come through and great quality recordings for all my clients. I have no bias for any genre of music and a determination for anything that comes out of my studio to stand clear from the crowd and shine" - Mike Taylor

With purpose built live and control rooms benefiting from great acoustics we know that whatever you play is going to sound good and because we invest in high quality equipment and microphones it's going to sound great coming out of our speakers. And, due to our wide range of top notch soft and hardware and our experience and expertise, it's still going to sound great coming from your headphones when you leave at the end of the session.
